"Being new to Los Alamos, Summer in the Park allowed me to get involved and find a place in the community. Before Summer in the Park the idea that you can make a difference greater than a personal relationship seemed out of reach. Seeing how a few people came together to make a difference in more than 80 lives, that, to me, is what it means to be a community."
"Working with the kids this summer was my first job and it definitely set high expectations for the rest of my jobs to come. I has a closer relationship with all of the kids. I also learned how to do CPR on someone if there is ever an emergency. It's a great day whenever a kid remembers who I am because of the summer recreation program."
"My experience was great! I had fun and learned quite a bit. Working as a recreation counselor taught me responsibility and a good work ethic. I also had the opportunity to teach the kids new things."
