The Los Alamos Community Safety Net, which arose out of our work during the global pandemic, identifies gaps and potential services for those with essential needs insecurities, linking and referring when generic resources exist and working to develop solutions where resources do not exist. Our target population includes seniors and our other isolated individuals, as well as those with language barriers. We partner with local volunteers and the Feed the Valley program, collaborate with the Los Alamos Senior Citizens Inc, PHP, and Olga Reed school, and we facilitate referrals to public service agencies the local offices of Social Security, Medicaid, the S.B. County Sheriff’s Department, among others.
